One of my favorite explorations as a kid happened with flippers and a mask in a lake. Fearful of the snapping turtles and water snakes (and brothers who imitated both), diving down in the shallow waters felt like entering a safe haven. Beneath comes from a memory of the quiet beauty just beneath the surface, as well as a kinship with the algae-covered rocks. I felt brave with my mask, watching the sun from the murky bottom of the lake light up everything like a Jewel.

Beneath is an original acrylic painting on a canvas that is .5 inches deep. The painting is 20 x 16 inches and ready to hang. The sides of the painting are painted dark green.
