Nectar may be small in scale, but it has more layers than most of the paintings in my collection. The breast of the hummingbird wears the first colors of the painting in contrast to the dark sky that came to be the final layer. You will find a hummingbird feather adhered to one of the wings, collected from a hummingbird nest outside our front door. A symbol of enjoyment of life and lightness of being, this hummingbird has found sweet nectar despite the tumultuous forecast.

Nectar is an original mixed media painting on a birch veneer wooden panel, 1.5 inches deep. Measuring 10 x 8 inches, the painting is wired and ready to hang.
